Tue, May 28 at 11:30am - Sat, Jun 1 at 11:00am

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 1st, from 9 – 11 AM, and plan to join us for the Opening Day of Farmers Market at the McCulloch County Courthouse square!

Both KNEL and the Brady Standard-herald will be there to help us celebrate. Festivities will include The Little Lost Creek Band, entertaining us from the gazebo, and the Animal Shelter, with irresistible dogs and cute kitties who are looking for homes. We plan to have Snow Cones and a Food Truck.
The Garden Club will have a table with info about their club and some really unique plant containers made from repurposed items that most people have lying around the house – some great ideas for what to do with your old junk!

There is a wide variety of vendors who have committed to coming and sharing their homegrown and homemade goodies and crafts. Items for purchase include fresh produce, eggs, honey, salsa, bbq sauce, smoked pecans, candied pecans, plants, tied fishing flies, hand painted tiles, baked goods, and Scrubbies. Don’t know what a scrubby is? Come and find out! There will be a gentleman sharpening knives, so gather up all your dull kitchen knives, and get in line! Did I mention handcrafted wooden items and crocheted and knitted items?

At the end of the morning, there will be a drawing for the “prize of the day.” Your name will go in the drawing everytime you purchase something from a vendor.

The Farmers Market is sponsored by the Central Texas Master Gardener Assn. There will be an information table manned by Master Gardeners. It will contain material with information about planting and caring for flower gardens and veggie gardens, info about the Master Gardener Program and how to become a Farmer Market vendor. Be sure to ask for a Native Texas Plant book that sells for only $2, and a Planting Guide that contains a yearly calendar of when to plant, prune, fertilize, and much more. It sells for $10. The Market will continue every Saturday from June 1st till the last week in July. Come and join us for this great community event! And buy a Snow Cone while you’re there!
