The City of Brady has set Tuesday, June 3, 2025, as the opening day for the summer swim season at the Brady Municipal Pool. Final confirmation is pending completion of staff certifications and required safety testing to ensure all lifeguards meet state standards.
This season brings a significant change to the pool’s weekly operating schedule due to a limited number of certified lifeguards. The pool will be open to the public four days a week: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
“Due to a smaller-than-expected response for seasonal lifeguard positions, we’ve had to modify our operating days,” said City Manager James Stewart. “The pool will not be open during the day on Fridays or Saturdays, but those days will be used exclusively for private pool party reservations.”
Public swim hours will be 1-6 p.m., with an adult swim hour from 6-7 p.m. daily on open days.
“We understand this change may impact families who have traditionally enjoyed weekend pool time,” said Stewart. “However, staffing requirements set by the State of Texas dictate the number of certified lifeguards on duty during operating hours. The revised schedule reflects both lifeguard availability and attendance patterns from past seasons, and was developed with input from returning lifeguard staff.”
Admission to the pool is $2 per person per day. Season passes are available for purchase at $60 for the first family member and $35 for each additional family member.
