Andrews Wins Re-Election, Young-Crouch Headed To Run-Off.

In the McCulloch County Primary Election, incumbent Sheriff Matt Andrews won re-election to the post with 1,178 votes, defeating challenger Arty Roberts who received 532 votes.

For McCulloch County Commissioner for Precinct 3, it was a four-way race with Rod Young getting 225 votes, Cody Crouch with 152 votes; Debbie Clifton with 92 votes and Chad Hill with 15 votes.  With Rod Young  receiving 46% of the total vote and Cody Crouch getting 31%, the two will go to a run-off election to decide which one will be the next Precinct 3 Commissioner.

In the race for State House of Representatives District 53 seat, Wes Virdell received 1,292 votes in McCulloch County, with Hatch Smith receiving 397.  With 97 of the 134 precincts in the 16 counties in District 53 reporting as of 10pm Tuesday night, Virdell led Hatch 17,337 to 11, 671.
