Appearing on KNEL’s Morning Program Tuesday, Brady School Superintendent, Dr. Hector Martinez, said he feels good about the level of security now in place in the District. He noted the Guardian program is in place with a number of teachers who have been trained and are armed. Also, the said the District has a School Resource Officer on staff and is getting excellent support from both the Police Dept. and Sheriff’s office.
Supt. Martinez reported a check of the local school facilities was conducted last week by the Texas Education Agency with very good results.
At the monthly meeting of the School Board Monday night, Dr. Martinez reported that enrollment in Brady after five weeks of school stands at 947, with a 96% attendance rate. In the Technology area, the District has received a grant of $84,000 that will be used to purchase 300 Chrome Books for elementary students. With those additional machines, the District will now have 949 devices available which is a one-to-one ratio District Wide.
