The Brady City Council began its regular meeting Tuesday night with a discussion of a request from Brady Methodist Church for the temporary closure of Blackburn and Elm Streets between 3rd and 4th Streets between 10am-2pm on Saturday, July 6th, in conjunction with the annual July Jubilee BBQ.

In other action, the Council heard the second and final readings for ordinances approving and amending the City budget and the EDC budgets.

Also on the Council agenda was awarding a contract to Techline Construction for work in replacing aging electric poles at a total cost of about $143,000.

The council concluded with an Executive Session that will include consultation with the City Attorney on pending or contemplated litigation; personnel issues — specifically the golf course superintendent; and property issues related to the Fire Station and 480 acres at Brady Lake.
