The Brady City Council met Tuesday night for a regular session and much of the discussion during the meeting centered on amending the current agreement with Emergifire, the city’s billing agent for EMS calls.

Brady Fire Chief, Jeremy Ramon, briefed the Council on the possible use of Emergifire for billing for fire calls. He stated that individual citizens will not be billed for services and only insurance companies would be.  Council then approved the first reading of Ordinance 1405 amending Ordinance 1401 to add rate fees for the deployment of emergency and non emergency services provided by the Brady Fire Department.

In other business, Council approved amending the FY 2026 Budget to include unfinished FY 2025 projects along with Resolution 2025-024 requesting grant funds in the amount of $18,000 from the Concho Valley Council of Governments for the purchase of baler recycling equipment for the landfill.  Also approved was an authorization for the City Manager to sign a sales quote with Warren CAT of San Angelo for a future lease purchase of a Caterpillar D6 Dozer for the landfill, a $250,000 grant by the Brady EDC to Shade and Associates renovation of the old Lintz Building on S Blackburn St on the east side of the court square and approved lifting the current hiring freeze.

City Secretary Tina Keys stated there will be a Special meeting Nov 17 at 5PM to canvass the special election results from Tuesday’s election. Since there was no Executive Session, Mayor Groves adjourned the meeting at 7:03PM.  The next regular session for the Brady City Council will be on Nov. 18 at 6PM.
