Brady Council Names Jeremy Ramon as Brady Fire Chief

During last night’s City Council meeting, Jeremy Ramon, a long serving member of the Brady Fire/EMS Department, was promoted to Fire Chief and EMS Director.  He had previously served as interim Chief for the past six months.  Ramon will begin his new duties effective immediately.

In other action, Council approved ordering a special run-off election on December 13, 2025 to fill the vacancy for the Place 4 seat previously held by Felix Gomez.  The two candidates vying for the seat are Vicky Roddie and Raymond Ledezma who finished first and second in the voting following the November 4th general election.  Early voting will begin on Monday, December 8 through Friday, Dec 12.  All voting will take place at Brady City Hall.  Also approved on Tuesday night was the second and final reading of both Ordinance 1404, that repeals Ordinance 1099 regarding the cost recovery fee schedule for fire service, and Ordinance 1405, which updates Ordinance 1401 – Utility Rates and Fee Schedule, to include rates for the use of emergency and non-emergency services provided by the Brady Fire/EMS Department.

After concluding the regular session, Council met in Executive Session to consider potential or contemplated litigation (Consultation w/City Attorney), personnel matters (Fire Chief) and real estate (Police/Fire Station).

The next Brady City Council meeting will be on Dec 2, 2025 at 6PM at the Municipal Court building.
