Last week Brady Elementary had a great week of celebrating reading with a Reading Festival! On Monday evening the Book Fair opened with family night. On Tuesday, the kids enjoyed dressing up like their favorite Dr. Suess character. Wednesday, everyone had a fun time dressing like their favorite book character. Parents were invited to a special Character Parade that evening in the school cafeteria.
Thursday was Community Reading Day. Several people from around the community scheduled to read in the different classrooms. Debbie Rule, with KNEL, was one of the community readers for Mrs. Borrego ‘s class. She took the kids on a Safari Hunt with the Dr. Suess book, The Cat In The Hat Safari So Good! The kids enjoyed a backpack full of goodies including a safari hat, binoculars, sunglasses, water for the long journey and animal cracker for their Safari Hunt. The backpack of goodies was provided by KNEL’s At Home With Debbie Rule program. The kids had a fun filled week that ended with Pajama Day on Friday and teachers reading their favorite book.
Thank you to everyone in the community who shared a book with the kids at Brady Elementary!
