The Brady City Council began their regular meeting Tuesday night with the introduction of Brady’s newest police officers by Chief Batten (Ledger Bucholz and Payton Evans) who have recently graduated from the police academy. Both were then sworn in by City Secretary, Tina Keys.
Two presentations were given to Council the first of which was from groundwater treatment plant operator Jamie Torres who gave his annual update on the operations of the water treatment plant. Will Davidson with Centurion Plan & Design of San Angelo explained the sidewalk project grant application along White St. as part of the 2025 Transportation Alternatives Set Aside (TA). This grant, if approved, would be funded 100% by TxDOT. Council then approved the minutes of the June 2 meeting, a road closure request by Brady Methodist Church for their annual BBQ dinner on July 5 and a noise variance for the annual Bradshaw reunion on June 20 at Brady Lake as part of the consent agenda.
In other action, Council approved the Engineering Services Agreement with Enprotec, Hibbs and Todd, Inc of Abilene, TX to support planning, design and construction phase services for water system improvements along with a resolution to authorize engaging with Bickerstaff, Heath, Delgado and Acosta of Austin, TX as bond counsel for the city. The final item was a short discussion about maintenance and upkeep of the city cemeteries including a number of cemetery policies. Discussion on the lease agreement for G. Rollie White was moved to Executive Session.
The next regular Brady City Council meeting will be on July 1, 2025 at 6PM at the Municipal Court Building.
