
The combination of almost perfect weather conditions and a record number of cars on display, plus a record number of people attending made the 8th Annual McCulloch County Car Show held Saturday at Richards Park a really big success.
Held each year as a fund raising effort for the McCulloch County Child Welfare Board, this year’s event also set a record for funds raised from sponsors and automobile registration fees.
Last year, the show set a record with 62 cars participating. For 2023, there were 85 cars filling up the show area at Richard Park. Cars participating covered the range — from really old to new and from totally stock to some astounding customizing jobs.
In addition to the Car Show, the event also included a number of activities enjoyed by kids attending. New this year was the Touch-A-Truck featuring a fire trucks, road equipment and first responder vehicles that were all a hit with the youngsters who enjoyed the opportunity to really get up close to the equipment.
