In ceremonies Friday morning at the McCulloch County Courthouse, 452nd Judicial District Judge, Rob Hoffman, administered the oath of office to Charla Pitcox for her to become the new District Clerk.
Charla Pitcox was selected by Judge Hoffman to be appointed to fill the District Clerk post following the resignation of former District Clerk, Michelle Pitcox.
Michelle Pitcox spent 13 years in that post and is now moving to a different position in the Judicial District as a Legal Assistant to District Attorney, Tanya Ahlschwede. Charla Pitcox has spent the past 20 years as an employee at Commercial National Bank in Brady.
The two women are sisters-in-law. Charla Pitcox is married to Tracy Pitcox, and Michelle Pitcox is married to Shane Pitcox.
Charla Pitcox will serve out the remainder of the unexpired term for District Clerk. There will be a special election in the fall of 2024 to fill the seat.
