Congressman August Pfluger appeared on KNEL Tuesday morning to provide his perspective on National events and  activities taking place in Washington, D. C.

On Monday, Cong. Pfluger announced his introduction of a bill in Congress to restore American energy dominance.  The “Midland Over Moscow Act” is included in the the Republican Study Committee annual alternative budget for fiscal year 2023. Cong. Pfluger described the bill as providing a strategy for the U.S. to deal with energy needs.

Also on Monday, Congressman August Pfluger sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas following the news the Biden Administration was considering dropping off buses of illegal migrants in San Angelo, Texas.  In the letter, Rep. Pfluger stated “San Angelo is a welcoming community, but the locality has not volunteered for this mission, nor are they responsible for the burdens of the border crisis. This situation is a direct result of DHS’ shortsighted policies that encourage more illegal immigration and the agency’s failure to establish operational control of the southern border.”  In his appearance on KNEL, Cong. Pfluger indicated that DHS has apparently backed-off dropping migrants in San Angelo.

While there are serious challenges facing the Country, Rep. Pfluger said he continues to have hope for America.  He said that hope is founded on his faith in the goodness of American citizens and their commitment to doing the right thing.
