Patriciza Aponte, the new General Manager at Desrtination Ford in Brady, has a special appreciation and affection for members of the military and the military families who support them. Aponte’s involvement with the military began on 9/11 when her husband was sworn in to the U.S. Army . From there, her life took many turns, but she has always remained a loyral part of the military and the large family of those who have served or are currently serving.
And, becuse May is Military Month, Aponte chose of have a special event at the auto dealership the week after Memorial Day to salute military veterans and recognize them.
The event involves inviting active duty military, veterans and retired military personnel to register for one of the dozens of prizes to be given away at noon on Saturday at the Destination Ford dealership on South Bridge Street in Brady. In addition to gift cards, free oil changes, free vehicle details, free tire rotations and many additional items, the grand prize will be a big flat screen television.
The event is truly special to Aponte who has a background with the milirary and military ffamilies since Sept. 11 when she first becase a member of the Fort Campbell and U.S. Army family.
Aponte said she “has so many friends and families that are militay members and this is a way to give back and salute it becasue I personnaly know the challengens military families go through.
With a focus on active dury, veterans and retirees, all are welcome to come down and particiapte in this salute to the military.
