Reduced pressure throughout the City of Eden water system over the weekend prompted the City to issue a Boil Water Notice on Sunday, Sept. 17th.

Texas Dept. of Environmental Quality regulations require that when the pressure in a municipal water system drops below a predetermined level, a Boil Water Notice is required until repairs have been made and tests by the TCEQ confirm the water is safe.

With the Boil Water requirement and reduced water pressure, Eden CISD officials chose to close the Eden school on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

According to Eden City Administrator, Pricilla Aguirre, replacement parts were expected to arrive on Tuesday. During this time, residents are also being asked to conserve water for other uses to help in recharging the system following repairs.
