It was quite a fun day during the Rochelle Volunteer Fire Department’s 1st Annual Goat Roping Event held this past Saturday in Rochelle. There were a number of participants who worked in pairs to show off their roping skills. First place went to the team of Byron Taylor and John Curtis who received some impressive belt buckles for their efforts. Along with the competition, brisket sandwich and brisket taco meals were available along with lemonade. Shady Oaks Bread Company was also there selling baked goods.
All proceeds from this event will go to support the Rochelle VFD.
