Texas Controller Kelly Hancock announced the State will distribute $1.3 billion in sales tax rebates to Texas Cities and Counties in the month of September — 7% more than in September of 2025.
However, for most counties in this area, sales tax rebates in September were lower than last year.
McCulloch County sales tax rebates in Sept. are off 5% from last year at $178,000, and down 1% on a year-to-date basis at $1.6 million. Within McCulloch County, the City of Brady’s tax rebate for Sept. is off 6% at $119,000. For the year, Brady’s rebate off 1% at $1.1 million. .
Mason County’s rebate in Sept. is down 16% at $36,000. But, year-to-date, Mason’s rebate is up 7% at $346,000.
The Menard County rebate for Sept. is $35,000 — flat with Sept. of last year. of 2025. Year-to-date, Menard’s rebate is $332,000 — up 6%.
San Saba County’s rebate is $95,000, down 32% from last year. Year-to-date, however, San Saba’s rebate is up 6% at $1.1 million.
