Joe Parks, a lieutenant in the Brady Volunteer Fire Dept. and the president of the Voca Voluntreer Fire Dept., was recognized as the receipient of KNEL and Destination Ford Above & Beyond Award for First Responders.
Parks received a prize package including a family pack of four tickets to Texas Rangers game and overnight accomdations in Arilington when he and his wife go to the game. Also included in the prize basket were a variety of Texas Rangers memorabilia and clothing, plus a KNEL Big Deals gift certiciate.
Nominations for the Above and Beyond award were submitted by KNEL listeners. The nomination for Parks praised his work in addressing the training needs of new volunteers in both Volunteer Fire Departments where he has served for seven years at each. The nomination noted that “When the tones drop, he is ready to answer the call.”
