KNEL has expanded our coverage of local High School Sports with the launch of Live Video Streaming of Mason Punchers Football on the KNEL website — KNELRadio.com .
Our live video streaming of Mason Punchers games began with the first game of the season on Friday, Aug. 30th when the Punchers host the Wall Hawks at R. Clinton Schultze Stadium at 7:00pm.
In the wake of the discontinuation of live video streaming of Mason Puncher Sports last winter, we at KNEL gave a lot of thought to the question of taking on that service.
The key consideration – providing a quality streaming product fans and supporters could be proud of.
Ultimately, we decided the answer was YES to taking on providing the service, and we have a plan for providing quality video streaming for Mason Punchers football in 2024.
KNEL has established a partnership with FBG.com in Fredericksburg, the firm that currently provides streaming of a variety of sports and academic activities at Fredericksburg High School and in the local community. We chose them because they have experience and a commitment to provide a quality video product for Mason from Day One.
Mason Punchers Home Games will be covered by three cameras at the stadium – one at mid-field and two at the end zones. Away games will be covered by two cameras to simplify the process.
Play-by-Play commentary with KNEL sportscasters Will Lehmberg and Jimmie Fore will be simulcast on 95.3 KNEL-FM and on the Live Stream on the KNELRadio.com Home Page. The game will automatically appear on the KNELRadio.com Home Page just prior to the start of pre-game activities.
An enhancements to KNEL’s sports coverage for 2024 will include a posting of High School schedules and scores on the home page of the KNELRadio.com website.
And, 95.3 KNEL-FM is joining the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard Show each Friday night from 10pm-12midnight. Airing on close to 50 stations in 34 markets, the program includes scores and recaps of Friday night games by local sportscasters across West Texas, and will now include game recaps by KNEL’s Rude Rule, Will Lehmberg, Jimmie Fore and James Griffin. You’re invited to tune it in Friday nights starting Aug. 30th on 95.3 KNEL-FM, on-line at KNELRadio.com or through the KNEL App that can be downloaded free at the Apple App Store.
