McCulloch County Commissioners have scheduled a Special Session at 1:00pm on Monday, June 15 for a Workshop on the Voluntary Unit Road System.

The Special Meeting is a follow-up to Commissioners approved at their meeting last Monday of a proposal to transition to a voluntary unit road system in the County. The transition would include the appointment of a road superintendent for two years. The vote was 4-1, with Commissioner Randy Deans voting against.

The Unit Road System would replace the current practice in which each individual Precinct Commissioner is responsible for road-work activities in their Precinct with a system in which the road superintendent would be responsible for upkeep of roads across all four Precincts.
