Menard County Commissioners Tuesday voted to lift the Burn Ban then in effect in the County.
Mason County Judge Jerry Bearden and McCulloch County Judge Frank Trull issued Executive Orders last week officially lifting the Burn Bans then in place in those counties.
The Burn Bans had been implemented by the Commissioners’ Courts because of the effects of the continuing drought and hot, weather throughout the summer. The Bans were lifted following recent rain and thunderstorms in the area. The status of burn bans in the Counties will be evaluated based on conditions as we move into the Fall.
Anyone planning to have a burn is asked to contact the County Dispatchers offices to be sure local officials are aware of planned burns.
