During a special meeting of the Rochelle Board of Trustees last Wednesday, Paul Veirs was chosen as the next Football Coach/AD for the Rochelle Hornets.

Veirs will be taking over for Matt Maciel who is relocating to the Houston area.  He brings 19 years of coaching experience with him to Rochelle and, in those 19 years, helped guide his teams to deep runs in the playoffs often reaching the 3rd and 4th round.  He also has 38 shoutout wins in his time as a defensive coordinator and Head Coach.

When asked about what he looks to accomplish at Rochelle, Veirs responded, “Our goal is to build a strong culture through discipline and hard work. Through this culture we will be able to compete year in and year out. I can’t wait to get started and impact Rochelle athletics and community! It’s a great day to be a Hornet!”  His most recent coaching stop was at Bruni High School near Laredo.

Coach Veirs will officially begin at Rochelle in about two weeks.
