The Brady City Council meeting Tuesday night began with presentations on the progress on revamping existing facilities for the Police Dept. and on work on the Fire Dept. relocation. Council also heard a presentation from the Airport Advisory Board.
Next, the Council held public hearings on requests for two zoning changes. One request is to change 617 N. Bridge from Commercial to Single-Family residential. The second request is to change 801 E. 8th Street from Single-Family residential to Manufactured Home District. Following the public hearings, the Council held the first reading of ordinances to approve the requested changes.
Also on the Council agenda was a discussion about allowing possession and consumption of an open container in public areas in the Central Business Districts, and to allow temporary use of City sidewalks outside of businesses and restaurants in the Central Business District.
The meeting concluded with an Executive Session for consultation with the City Attorney on the Police Dept., Airport Advisory Board and the EMS agreement with McCulloch County.
