The early morning rains that swept across the area Tuesday and Wednesday morning brought upwards of five to six inches to many areas that, in turn, flooded many areas.

In Precinct 2 in McCulloch County, Commissioner Randy Deans reported that County Roads 212, 216, 220 and 202 were closed on Wednesday and again on Thursday from the flooding. In addition to the flooding, Commissioner Deans indicated many roads had been seriously damaged by the flood waters.

Another area with severe flooding was in Southern McCulloch and northern portions of Menard County near the San Saba River which was reported out of its banks at a number of locations.  Highway 190 at 1311 was barracaded at the low-water crossing on the San Saba River because of the high water.
