“Spring Forward” Daylight Saving Time

SHARE NOW

Every March, we take part in the familiar ritual of “springing forward”—moving our clocks ahead by one hour to welcome longer, brighter evenings. This year, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 a.m., when clocks jump forward to 3:00 a.m. While we lose an hour of sleep, we gain those golden evening hours that make spring feel like it’s finally on the way.

Daylight Saving Time was designed to make better use of natural daylight, shifting an hour of sunlight from the morning to the evening. Many people enjoy the extra light for after‑work activities, safer evening travel, and the psychological lift that comes with longer days. Whether you love it or simply tolerate it, “spring forward” is our annual reminder that warmer weather and brighter evenings are just around the corner.
