The final day of Mason’s Roundup festivities got underway Saturday morning with a special event at 9:30am — a Flag-Raising Ceremony on the Mason Courthouse Square celebrating 250 years of America — the Land of the Free — and the 175th anniversary of Fort Mason. The Flag Raising Ceremony was conducted by members of the American Legion Fort Mason Post 2385 and the Mason VFW Post 8554.
At 10am, the 61st Annual Roundup Parade got underway with George Brannies and Chip Edmison again serving as Flag Bearers for the tribut to the community and a celebration of Mason’s western traditiion.
With over 50 entries, the Parade included a wide variety of individuals and groups representing local businesses from across the Hill Country, civic and service orgnizations, charities, and a big group of folks who where there just to celebrate the day and the Mason community.
Following the parade, the festivites were centered on the Courthouse Square where upwards of 80 vendors were on hand for the enjoyment and entertainment of what is always a big crowd.
At 3:00pm, the Odeon Theater hosted a Talent Contest.
Then, it was back to Fort Mason Park at 7:30pm for the final night of the Rodeo.
