Brady Picks Up Homecoming Win Over Ballinger 36-19

Steeped in over a century of history, the rivalry with the Ballinger Bearcats often means a very spirited and unpredictable game and last Friday was no exception.  The Bearcats came ready to play as they scored first early in the second quarter to take an early 7-0 lead over the Bulldogs. However, the Bulldogs had other ideas as they would score 22 unanswered points to take the halftime lead 22-7.  Brady would add a touchdown at the 8:06 mark in the 3rd quarter to go up 28-7.  Facing 4th down and 7, the Bearcats would answer with a touchdown with 3:04 left in the third quarter cutting Brady’s lead to 28-13.  The Bulldogs would score once more as the third quarter came to an end extending the Bulldogs lead to 36-13.  With 7:21 left in the game, Ballinger adds their final touchdown bringing the score to 36-19 in favor of Brady which would be the final score of the game.

Overall, the Bulldogs racked up a total of 458 yards on offense while holding the Ballinger defense to 228 total yards.  The Bulldogs had 351 yards rushing and 134 yards passing as Sean Jacoby throws for four touchdowns along with rushing for 101 yards.  Rylan Pedigo had two receiving touchdowns while Ashton Taylor and Ethan Bernal each had one.  Johnny Roque had one rushing touchdown.  On the night, Ashton Taylor ran for 156 yards rushing along with 40 yards receiving and Sean Jacoby had 101 yards rushing with Johnny Roque adding 61 yards rushing.   Rylan Pedigo had 39 yards receiving while Alijah Stark picked up 34 yards receiving.

The 3-1 Bulldogs will be on the road this Friday (Sept 26) as they take on the 0-4 Ingram Moore Warriors.  Kickoff is set for 7PM.  The Ballinger Bearcats will travel to Collinsville on Friday night as they take on the 3-1 Pirates.
