Both the Mason County Commissioners’ Court and McCulloch Commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meetings on Monday, Apr. 13th.
Mason County Commissioners will begin their meeting with acceptance of a Mason Community Foundation grant for use by the Historical Commission, and approval of the purchase of Library shelving for the Historical Commission Dept.
Also on the Mason agenda will amending the County budget for Building Improvements, hiring a new part-time Nutrition Program Assistant and acknowledging a new Clerk in the Sheriff’s office and a new Administrative Assistant to the County Judge.
Commissioners’ will also be considering whether to keep the current Burn Ban in effect.
McCulloch County Commissioners will begin with four discussion items. Two of those items have already been the subject of comment and controversy.
One item is a request by Caprock RE LLC to lease one acre of land out of the 14-acre tract owned by the County for a Battery Storage System project adjacent to the substation located at 400 E. US Highway 190. In advance of the meeting, Commissioners have pointed out there have been no plans presented yet of the type of facility Caprock RE is proposing.
Another item drawing lots of attention from local residents is the proposed routes for a 765kV transmission line planned for the area. The Public Utilities Commission recently published a listing of revised routes being proposed by LCRA and ONCOR. Lauren Bedwell will address the Commissioners to share personal impact and letters of testimony that could be used in any potential public hearing before the PUC.
Action items on the Commissioners’ agenda will include approving a donation valued t $288,000 from P.W. Gillibrand to asphalt chip-seal 10,477 feet on County Roads 216 and 218.
