The first action item on the agenda for the McCulloch County Commissioners meeting Monday was to approve a request from Central Texas Master Gardeners to use the Courthouse grounds for a Farmers Market again in 2023. The dates for the Farmers Market requested are June 3- July 29 and September 9 – October 28.
Commissioners also approved a request from the McCulloch County Farm Bureau to Proclaim May 10 as Texas Food Connection Day. May 10th is the day the local Farm Bureau will be holding its annual Food Connection event at Tractor Supply which includes serving a hamburger meal to all those attending.
Also on the Commissioners’ agenda was a budget adjustment for Precinct 4 and discussion of the advantages and opening of Request for Qualifications for professional appraisal services for determining the value of the old Super S building. Tom Sammons with Sammons & McAnally was selected for the task.
At 1:00pm, Commissioners reconvened for budge workshop to kick off work on the budget for the next fiscal year.
Also, Commissioners have scheduled a special session for Friday at 10am for a discussion with Jessica Kramer, TDEM Recovery Coordinator, on the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing a FEMA Road Disaster grant for Precinct 4.
