The McCulloch and Mason County Commissioners’ Courts each met for their scheduled meetings on Monday, Mar. 9.
McCulloch County Commissioners began their meeting with several discussion items.
The Commissioners heard from a representative from Acoustic Technology outline how their systems are engineered to help the County comply with new requirements for alerting systems in populated at-risk flood-prone areas to meet FEMA and Texas Water Development Board requirement. ‘
Commissioners also discussed submission of letter to the Texas Public Utilities Commission encouraging them to make public any plans for alternative routes for a proposed 765 KV transmission line through the County that are being considered. Precinct 1 Commissionr, Carol Anderson, expressed concern there is a lack of transparency by the PUC.Following the discussion, the Commission voted to send a letter preapared by Commissioner Anderson to the PUC..
Commissioners also approed a request from the McCulloch County Child Welfare Board to place yard art sign on the Courthouse lawn prior to the Group’s annual Car Show and Swap Meet on April 19.
Mason County Commissioners heard several items related to the Mason County Historical Commission, including a request to apply for a grant and approving new members to the Commission, And, Commissioners considered a request to loan Courthouse artifact to the Bullock State History Museum.
Among other actions considered by Commissioners were repairs to the Sheriff’s office, equipment purchases and possible implementation of a 90-day Burn Ban.
The session concluded with a presentation about and tour of the Hill Country Mobile Mental Health Clinic Program.
