Brady City Council Covers Street Closures, Tourism Budget In Workshop, Regular Session Tuesday

The Brady City Council met for a Workshop session on Tuesday at 5:00pm, followed by the Regular meeting at 6:00pm.

The Workshop included a discussion with Solid Waste Superintendent Jim Kidd and bids for a remodeled Police Dept. facility. .

In their regular session, the Council approved requests for a street closure on Thanksgiving Day for a 5k and 1 mile Turkey Trot, and the temporary closure of streets around the Courthouse Square on Dec. 9th for the Christmas in the Heart celebration.

Other items on the Council agenda included an ordinance transferring unfinished projects from the 2023 budget to the 2024 City budget.

The Council also reviewed the Chamber of Commerce Tourism Budget and approved a request from the Chamber to retain $114,000 in excess Tourism funds for several specific projects being considered.

The Council tabled taking any anction on accepting bids for the remodeled Police Dept. facility.

The Council concluded with an Executive Session  that included a discussion of real property — specifically an Animal Control Shelter.
