At Tuesday’s Brady City Council meeting, the final steps were taken to complete the sale of the city’s gas distribution system transferring ownership to West Texas Gas Utility, LLC in Midland. The agreement sets the closing date for Oct. 1, 2025 and the City of Brady will receive $2,125.000.00 as a result of the purchase by West Texas Gas Utility, LLC. Council also gave approval for the FY 2026 budget, tax rate and the utility and fee schedule on second and final reading of Ordinances 1399,1400 and 1401 respectively.
Council also called for a special election for November 4, 2025 to fill the Council Place 4 seat previously held by Felix Gomez who resigned earlier this month and approved two requests for noise variances, one for a wedding at the Sanctuary in the Heart on Sept 20, 2025 and the other for the Brady Revive dinner and dance on Oct 25 at the Show Barn at Richards Park.
The next Brady City Council Meeting will be on Oct 7, 2025 at 6PM at the Municipal Court Building. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
