The Brady City Council met on Tuesday night for a regular session and had a number of items to consider. The Council first heard a presentation from Public Works Director Steven Miller in regards to an opportunity for the City to apply for financial assistance from the Texas Water Development Board in the form of a $10,000,000 grant for surface water improvements as a result of the passage of HB 500. Later in the meeting, Council gave approval to allow City Manager James Stewart to formally apply for the grant.
Other items approved were the first reading of Ordinance 1414 to amend the fiscal year budget for municipal purposes, a resolution to allow for alcohol sales at the Smoke on the Hill fundraiser at Richards Park and a number of temporary road closures for the Methodist Church Annual BBQ, Brady Council and the World Championship Goat Cook Off and Goat Gallup. Also approved was a noise variance for the Goat Cookoff along with a number of Hotel Occupancy Tax grants for the Brady Youth Sports Foundation, Brady Golf Association, and Smoke on the Hill.
The next regular Brady City Council meeting will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 6PM at the Municipal Court building.
