The Brady City Council held two sessions Tuesday. The first was a Workshop to discuss assurance statements required when applying for federal funding and review of current obligations tied to federal funds.
The second session was the regularly scheduled meeting of the Council that will begin with a presentation on work being done by the City Staff on a 10-year Water Tank Maintenance Program. Also on the agenda was approval of a the new Airport water tank logo.
The Council approved the second and final reading of an ordinance amending the current budget by increasing the Water/Sewer Fund by $75,000. Following that, the Council also approved accepting the low bid of $398,000 for the Oak Street, San Jacento sewer line improvement project. The project will include installation of 6″ PVC lines to replace old, trouble-prone clay pipes.
Also on the Council agenda was approval of Hotel Occupancy Tax funding requests for $5,000 for the TruCountry Music Show to be held April 7-8; a $10,000 allocation to the Heart of Texas Country Music Association for the annual Heart of Texas Music Festival March 23-April 1st; and $15,000 to support production costs for a television program “Cal’s Hometown Revival ” featuring the City of Brady and the murals that were created here.
