Speaking at the Brady/McCullloch County Good News Lunch Wednesday, Precinct 2 Commissioner, Randy Deans, said the County was fortunate it didn’t have the damage taht other countoies had experienced. He emphasized that elected officials in the City and County are working behind the scenes a whole lot, putting in a lot of time and hours most people don’t recognize. He said that it didn’t matter what their position, they’re all working to do their job that is expecially challenging because of the flooding issues.
As for Precinct 2, Commissioner Deans things are a little rougn. There are five roads that are closed, but all land and property owners have access to their property. He said that is one brige over the San Saba River tht is closed until the State can inspect it to ensure it is safe for traffic.
Also speaking at the Good News Lunch was Brady City Manager, James Stewart, who said there is a need for a lot of repairs — especially to streets — that will be required, and some streets are closed currently. He noted that the event held last week at Tractor Supply hade a good turnout and met the purpose of providing information to residents on where to get help, and to collect information for about the extent of damages and the needs of people in the community.
Stewart said Brady Lake is offcially full at this time.
