March Sales Tax Rebates Mixed For Area Counties

Acting Texas Controller Kelly Hancock announced this week the State will distribute $1.1 billion in sales tax rebates to Texas Cities and Counties in the month of March — 2.1 percent more than in March of 2025.

McCulloch County sales tax rebates in March were up 2% at $160,000, and flat  year-to-date at $543,000. Within McCulloch County, the City of Brady’s tax rebate for March is up 7% at $141,000. For the year thus far, the City of Brady’s rebate is flat at $363,000.

Mason County’s rebate in March is flat at $30,000, but up 3% for the year at $119,000.

The Menard County rebate totaled $37,000 for March, up 14%. Year-to-date, Menard’s rebate is $120,000 — up 11%.

San Saba County’s March rebate is $88,000,  down 28% from last year, but up 18% year-to-date at $407.000.
