The McCulloch County Commissioners’ Court began their Monday meeting with the Commissioners approving the bond for Gary Maricle who had been selected last week to fill the vacant Precinct 4 seat on the Court.

Maricle was selected by County Judge Frank Trull and the Commissioners’ to fill the post previously held by Don Bratton, who resigned recently for personal reasons. Maricle will serve the remainder of term, which extends through the end of next year.

Born in McCulloch County, Maricle and his wife returned to the area following his retirement. He said his experience included eight years with the Texas Dept of Transportation and 25 years administering and managing gas operations. Maricle indicated he and his family had an interest in the area, and he had always been interested in serving. He added he felt his prior experience would enable him to make a contribution to the community.

Other actions taken by Commissioners at their meeting included acceptance of an application by Nancy Munetake to serve as the McCulloch County Veterans Service Officer.

Commissioners also approved an inter-local agreement with the Texas Division of Emergency Management to use the premises at 2941 County Road 100 to stage, sort and dispose of flood debris. The location will not be open to the public, but will be used by contractors hired by the State to carry out clean up activities.
