Declaring that circumstances present in all or pat of the unincorported areas of the County create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdooor burning, the Mason County Commissioners Monday ordered implementation of a 90-day Burn Ban in the County.
The order prohibits all outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of the County from August 17 until Nov. 15.
The order does not prohibit outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety that are authorized by the Texas Commission on Envronmental Quality. A land owner planning a prescribed burn must file a properly executed plan with the County Judge’s office before conducting the burn.
