At a Special session of the Mason City Commission Wednesday evening, the Commission completed their evaluation of the resumes and interviews of the potential job candidates and voted to hire Amanda Hill as the new Mason City Administrator.
Hill will take over her new post as the Mason City Administrator in September.
Hill will be taking on the position previously held by John Palacio who left the City of Mason staff for a position with the LCRA.
Born and raised in Salida, Colorado, Hill currently serves as the City Manager of Rusk, Texas, where she has been employed since September, 2020. Hill has been a resident of East Texas since moving to Gladewater in 2018 where she served as the City Treasurer. Prior to that, she had been the Finance Manager for South Fork, Colorado.
A mother of three adult children, Hill is a graduate of Adams State College and Adams State University in Colorado, with degrees from both in Public Administration.
