McCulloch County Judge, Frank Trull, Wednesday proclaimed a state of disaster and announced the imposition of a Burn Ban in the County.
Judge Trull said the disaster declaration is warranted by continuing severed dry weather, drought conditions and the lack of adequate precipitation poses an increased and immediate threat of wildfire which would endanger lives and property in McCulloch County.
The burn ban will expire in seven days on Wednesday, Jan. 26th. The Commissioners Court will meet for a regular session on Monday, Jan. 24 and will have the option to renew or discontinue the burn ban.
Under the current disaster declaration and burn ban, the use of combustible materials in an outdoor environment is prohibited in McCulloch County.
