McCulloch County Commissioners began their March 25th meeting with a discussion and vote on the proposed purchase by the County of a 1,000 gallon distribution trailer to be used by all four precincts.   The $52,000 trailer will be used by the precincts in helping prepare an emulsion used in making road repairs. The funding for the trailer will come from the COVID-19 Relief funds allocated to the County.

Commissioners approved a proclamation designating April as Child Abuse Awareness Month; approved the use the Courthouse lawn for a display of “Stop Child Abuse” yard art in April; and agreed to a request for equipment to display on April 15th  for a “Touch a Truck” display at the Car Show that day.

Commissioners also approved  advertising for professional appraisal services to help determine the market value of the former Super S building located at 301 E. Commerce Street.  The appraisal is a first step in the start  of the County’s efforts to sell the property.  Orignally acquired for possible use as a County service center, the building has remained vacant for a number of years.

Following the regular session, Commissioners reconvened for a Workshop regarding the Texas Association of Counties property renewal schedule.
