The filing period for residents in the Rochelle and Lohn School Districts who wanted to be a candidate for election to the local School Board expired on Monday, August 22nd. Unless someone comes forward and files as a write-in candidate, only two spots on the Rochelle ISD ballot will be contested and on the ballot.
In Rochelle, there are four positions on the Board up for election this year. Those seats are currently held by Alvin Bolton, Mike Wolfe, Tommy Howell and Jamie McBee. Bolton did not run for re-election. Two candidates — Jeremy Brown and John Dagan — filed for that position.
Incumbent Jamie McBee is being challenged by Eric Ruiz for the Place 4 seat on the Board.
In Lohn, three incumbents — Quincy Ellis, Bobby Pearce and Robert Swenson filed for re-election. Brad Ellis filed as a candidate for an unexpired term on the Board with two yeas remaining.
