TxDOT Brownwood District’s contractor has begun milling and sealing
US 87 in McCulloch County. This project’s purpose is to extend the life of the road surface.
The limits of the project extend from 0.5 miles south of SH 71 to the Mason County Line.
Crews will mill the road surface and restripe the freshly textured surface over the next
approximately four weeks. After this, a seal coat will be applied in the coming weeks, along with
permanent striping.
One lane will be closed in the four-lane section of US 87; however, where the road narrows to
two lanes, flaggers will assist traffic through a one lane closure. Please obey all signage, avoid distractions, and use caution in and near the work zone. Watch for crews and equipment entering and exiting the work zone.
