The Mason City Commission held a special meeting Tuesday that focused largely on discussions of water and sewer projects contemplated for the City.
The session began with the award of a contract for engineering services for a Community Development Block grant.
Next, the Commission hear d a presentation of the Master Planning Grant and Sewer Plan , followed by a discussion of that plan and the upcoming Community Development Block grant.
The Commission discussed applying for funding for two Texas Water Development Board revolving fund programs — one for the Drinking Water program and the other through the Clean Water State Revolving fund.
Also on the agenda for the Commission was approval of the expense and funding for the swimming pool.
Finally, the Commission approved an agreement with the Mason ISD for conducting the May 6 local elections. And, in a related move, the Commission ordered the cancellation of the election for Commissioner for District 4 since incumbent Paul Smith is un-opposed for re-election. In the Place 4 seat, incumbent Anna Velez is being challenged by Nicholas Gerisch.
