The Mason County Commissioners Court will be holding Regular sessions each Monday in August.

At their meeting on Monday, August 1st, Mason Commissioners will voted to  adopt a budget for 2023 that has few changes from the 2022 budget.  Commissioners will be holding a public hearing on that budget near the end of August before it becomes final.

Commissioners turned to setting the tax rate for 2022 and decided to hold the rate in 2022 at the same rate as in 2021.  With the increases in property tax valuations, the County will still received a slightly higher amount in 2022.

Also on the agenda for Commissioners was continued discussions about proposed Subdivision Regulations for the County.  Mason County Judge Jerry Bearden said they will be holding a public hearing on the proposed regulations in early September, with the intent of having them finalized by the end of that month.

Other items on the Mason Commissioners’ agenda for Monday will approval of the imposition of optional fees for the 2023 calendar year; approving advertising for bids for used County equipment; and the purchase of computers for the M. Bevan Eckert Library.
