County Commissioners’ Courts in both Mason and Menard Counties recently voted to implement Burn Bans in their Counties due to the extreme fire danger brought on by continuing drought conditions.
The Mason County Burn Ban is effective through May 28th.
The Menard County Burn Ban is in effect through June 6th.
Violation of a Burn Ban is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.,
