Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported this week sales tax rebates of $936 million to Texas Cities and Counties in December — 18% higher than the same month last year.
December rebates are for taxes collected in October.
McCulloch County’s overall sales tax rebate in Dec. totaled $163,000, 12% higher than the same month last year. Year-to-date, the McCulloch County rebate is down 6% at $1.8 million.
Within McCulloch County, the City of Brady’s sales tax rebate was up 15% in Dec. at $110,000, and up 5% year-to-date at $1.2 million.
Mason County’s Dec. tax rebate was up 13% for the month at $31,000, and up 19% for the year at $352,000.
In Menard County, the tax rebate for Dec. was off 8% at $24,000, and down 26% year-to-date at $326,000.
Concho County’s Dec. rebate was off 5% from last year at $26,000. Year-to-date, Concho’s rebate is down 28% at $352,000.
San Saba County’s rebate in Dec. is up 1% for the month at $74,000. So far this year, rebates to San Saba are up 9% at $937,000.
