The 99th Annual Mason County Livestock Show and Expo got underway Wednesday morning and continued through Friday at the Fort Mason Park Community Building and included a large number of both young exhibitors and animals.
One participant, Dakota Martin, had the distinction of being the exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Hog, the Grand Champion Steer and the Grand Champion Market Lamb.
Exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Hog was Dakota Martin, with Bronwya Underwood showing the Reserve Champion Market Hog.
Judging of the individual breed categories began with Kaylen Langehennig exhibiting both the Champion and Reserve Champion Duroc. The exhibitor of the Champion Hampshire was Bronwyn Underwood, with KeltAn Jordan showing the Reserve Champion.
The Champion Dark OPB was shown by Dakota Martin, with the Reserve Champion exhibited by Olivia Langehennig. The Champion Light OPB was exhibited by Keltan Jordan, with Judge Jackson showing the Reserve Champion.
Exhibiting the Champion York was O’Brien Underwood, with Kalen Langehennig showing the Reserve Champion. The Champion Dark Cross was shown by Dakota Martin, with the Keltan Jordon exhibiting the Reserve Champion. Both the Champion and Reserve Champion Light Cross Hogs were exhibited by Bronwyn Underwood.
The Cattle Show began Wednesday afternoon with the exhibition of Heifers. Exhibiting the Champion and Reserve Champion British Heifer was Jarrett Worrell. The Champion Exotic Heifer was shown by Kinsley Atchison, with Lynn Lehmberg exhibiting the Reserve Champion. The Grand Champion Heifer was exhibited by Jarrett Worrell, with the Reserve Grand Champion shown by Kinsley Atchison.
In the Steer Show Wednesday, the Champion American steer was shown by O’Brien Underwood, with the Reserve Champion shown by Della Ray Osbourne. O’Brien Underwood also exhibited the Grand Champion British steer, with the Reserve Champion shown by Jarrett Worrell. The Champpion All Other Breeds steer was exhibited by Dakota Martin, with the Reserve shown by O’Brien Underwood. Selected by the Judge as the Grand Champion Steer at the Mason Show was the AOB exhibited by Dakota Martin, with the Reserve Champion shown by O’Brien Underwood.
Thursday’s show activities focused on exhibition of Sheep and Goats.
The Champion Southdown was shown by Keagan Potter, with Kimbrea Broyles exhibiting the Reserve Champion. Roddie Brooks was the exhibitor of both the Champion and Reserve Champion Finewool lamb.
Dakota Martin exhibited the Champion Finewool Cross lamb, with the Reserve Champion shown by Roddie Brooks. The Champion Dorper lamb was exhibited by Keagan Potter, with the Reserve Champion shown by Roan Moore.
The Champion Medium Wool Lamb was shown by Dakota Martin, with the Reserve Champion exhibited by Hux Geistweidt.
The Grand Champion Market Lamb was exhibited by Dakota Martin, with the Reserve Champion shown by Roddie Brooks.
Thursday’s activities concluded with the Goat Show and Goat Showmanship competitions.
Friday show activities included Food & Nutrition Interviews at 8:00am; the Ag Mechanics Show at 9:00am; and the opening of the General Store at 4:00pm
The Buyers Reception started at 4:00pm, with the Premium Sale getting underway at 5:00pm.
