At their meeting Monday morning, Mason County Commissioners set August 22nd as the date for public hearings on the County’s proposed budget for 2023 and on the Tax Rate for 2022. Commissioners are meeting each Monday during August.
Other items on the Mason agenda included voting to set the salaries, expenses and allowances for elected officials, and approving a purchase of technology equipment.
Commissioners also approved an order authorizing preparation of a Takings Impact Assessment regulation of subdivisions in the unincorporated areas of the County, and approved a Takings Impact Assessment to regulate subdivisions. Both actions are required first steps in establishing the subdivision regulations. Appearing on KNEL’s Morning Program Tuesday, County Judge Jerry Bearden said it is a deliberative process a with a number of opportunities for make changes as they proceed. A hearing on the proposed regulations is expected in September.
