Council Approves EMS Agreements with McCulloch County & City of Melvin, Takes Input on Manufactured Housing Boundaries.

The Brady City Council met on Tuesday night (Apr 18) and covered a short agenda of items.  Mayor Pro-Tem Terry Phillips was not able to attend.  After approval of the consent agenda, Council held a public hearing regarding the establishment of boundaries for Manufactured Housing to be allowed by right in single family zoning within the city limits of Brady.  Two individuals in the audience came forward to express both concerns and support for approving said boundaries for manufactured homes in Brady.

After closing the Public Hearing, Council then moved into the regular agenda items and took action on the following items –

  • Approved an interlocal agreement with McCulloch County for EMS services.
  • Approved a draft Interlocal Agreement with the City of Melvin for EMS services.
  • Approved a construction award to Techline Construction, LLC of Austin, TX for improvements to the overhead powerline crossing over Brady Creek in the amount of $153,524.00.
  • Approved the first reading of Ordinance 1417 of the City of Brady, Texas to established boundaries allowing Manufactured Housing by right in single family zoning within the Brady city limits (Zone 1 – eastside & Zone 2 – northside).

No Action was taken on potentially transferring ownership of weather siren system to McCulloch County.

The Council then met in Executive Session for consultation with the City Attorney and for deliberations over real property (Police/Fire station).  No action was taken following the completion of the Executive Session.  The next Brady City Council meeting will be on Sept. 1, 2026 at 6PM.
