One of the first items on the agenda for the Brady City Council Tuesday night was the Pinning and Swearing In of Randy Batten as Brady’s New Chief of Police.  Batten was selected for the post by the Council at their last meeting.

Following the swearing in, Chief Batten said he was looking forward to continuing to work to make the community safe. Batten has been a member of the Brady Police Dept. for six years, following 24 years with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Dept.

The second item on the Council agenda was a public hearing on two requests for a Special Use Provision that would allow a Bed & Breakfast venue to be located in Single-Family Residential zone at 900 and 901 South Blackburn Street. The Council will later take up consideration of ordinances allowing the two requests during the regular session.

Also on the Council agenda will be awarding engineering and construction contracts for improvements to water mains on South China Street.
